This week I got an update from the World Race leadership team explaining our options moving forward. Here were the options:

  1. Start stateside in October
  2. Start in January (with the hopes of going international)
  3. Defer to August 2021

For me it was an easy choice. I will start stateside in October, working with different ministry partners until things open up internationally.

We will be going to two of the following places in the States: Atlanta, North Carolina, Wisconsin, Pittsburgh, or Chicago. For a few months we will work with ministry hosts in these locations. They will then try to send us internationally in January. We may go to Central America (starting in Guatemala), South America (starting in Ecuador), and Southeast Asia (starting in Thailand).

Of course there are so many uncertainties when it comes to traveling with this virus, so all plans are tentative and subject to change.

I am so excited to get started, and I realize that ministry in the States is just as important as going international. I know I’m being called to this ministry and I am happy to start wherever it may take me!

With all this being said, I still have a $8,500 deadline early this September that I will need to reach in order to leave in October. I have a few fundraisers planned for this month so be on the lookout for those!

  2. That plan sounds solid. I especially like that you will work statewide. I agree with you whole heartedly that ministry is as needed in the US just as it is internationally. With best wishes and prayer! Carole
