It’s been a crazy few weeks! I am currently writing this post from Ciudad Vieja, Guatemala! First, I want to talk about all the transitions that have happened this month.

My squad left Wisconsin on January 6th. We drove a school bus from Wisconsin Dells to the Chicago airport. Then we flew from the airport to Atlanta for our parent event. I finally got to see my parents after 3 months and not being home for Christmas and the New Year. They got to meet my teammates and leadership team. It was the sweetest time of reconnecting! We even got to swing by Flowery Branch on the way to launch in Gainesville and spend the afternoon meeting all our pets. My teammates got to feed lollipops to our pet pig, Neville. 😉

After this wonderful time with family we headed to Gainesville, GA for our launch event. Here we got to connect with our leadership team and spend a couple of days getting equipped for international ministry.

We left Gainesville on January 11th and spent the night at the Atlanta airport. Early the next morning, we got to finally leave for our first international location!

We then drove from Guatemala City to Antigua, where the Adventures In Missions base is located. My team used these few days to prep for the following month. We spent some time doing cultural training and being introduced to this amazing country.

We have now been in Guatemala for a couple of weeks. I am loving the time I get to spend with my teammates. And the 70 degree weather in January isn’t bad either. I’m excited to experience more of this country and the beautiful culture here!

Stay tuned for my next post about my time in Guatemala so far!

P.S. – – for more info on the work we got to do in Wisconsin – check out this blog post by my sweet teammate Janice!
